Fake Memories

Last night was a splendid summer evening in the Mediterranean with friends and strangers enjoying the beach, reliving pure childhood adrenaline up on the diving board. Although this wasn’t my childhood and I’ve never been here before, this place feels familiar. A sense of unexplained nostalgia, similar to waking up from a dream so vivid you struggle to remember which moment was real.

Last night gave me a peculiar feeling that I’ve lived a childhood of lazy afternoons on this Greek island. A kid up all day causing trouble and growing up carefree only knowing salty sunsets and sandy toes. I would like to think that maybe I have… many many lives ago. And that seeing this place for the first time, in this life, simply roused a few old memories of sun-kissed summer days in Greece.
